Kevin Gee is a Technical Solution Architect in the Modern Data Centers practice at Mainline Information Systems and an Adjunct Online Instructor at BYU-Pathway Worldwide. He has over 30 years of IT experience, most prominently with IBM and Red Hat solutions in the enterprise computing and infrastructure space.
Kevin is a problem solver whose skill range from the keyboard to the whiteboard. He has held various technical sales, consulting, and leadership roles at World Wide Technology, Capgemini Engineering, Forsythe Technology, and Affiliated Computer Services (among others). He has broad experience in server and storage infrastructure and performance, system engineering, high availability and disaster recovery, enterprise backup and recovery, and product development and go-to-market strategy.
Having been around IT architecture, product management, strategy, engineering services and product sales, technical sales enablement, IT consulting, field support, data science, outsourcing/offshoring, software development and support, training and mentoring, operations, and academic research, his vast experience and skillsets make him uniquely qualified to solve hard problems across different disciplines.
He frequently writes white papers, presents at IBM technical conferences and contributes to others' presentations, and has published research into machine learning, graph processing, and natural language processing and reviews publications for the IEEE Journal of Cybernetics. He is an IBM Champion (since 2019) and has too many certifications/badges to list here (see below).
Kevin holds a master's degree in Computer Science and completed coursework towards a PhD from The University of Texas at Arlington, and bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Spanish from Brigham Young University.
Kevin is married with 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren, and resides outside Fort Worth, Texas. In their free time, he and his wife like to travel. Kevin also volunteers much of his free time with the Tarrant County Elections Board, the College of Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington, BYU-Pathway Worldwide, IEEE, his church, and other civic groups. Previously, he devoted many hours to the Boy Scouts of America and the local school district. He speaks Spanish and previously lived in Chile.
